Kantcon is coming up in July, and I'll be running a new Star Wars RPG adventure, and a panel/workshop. The adventure is definitely going to be Solo deep dive of sorts....Kessel Breakout. The panel/workshop will build on some of the items I discussed at my GamerNation Con panel earlier this year, but more organized and focused more on process.

Star Wars Wednesday - GamerNation Con 5
Thanks to deadlines, work travel, and more, I've been remiss in posting these past few weeks. This lasted right up until last week when I was on my way to GamerNation Con 5, The Order of the Gamers (with a Harry Potter theme). I was the Guest of Honor this year, and it was a great time. Lots of Star Wars RPGs were played, and much more.

That was quick. d20 Radio and the Order 66 podcast announced their Kickstarter for GNcon 5: Order of the Gamers today, and I'm the Guest of Honor. The Kickstarter has already funded.
GNCon runs April 5-8, 2018 at Dallas Games Marathon in Plano, Texas.
GNCon is a small game convention, but draws attendees from d20 Radio's fans around the world. I'll be doing a panel and running some games. Space is limited at the con, so backing the Kickstarter is a must for attendees. More information is on the kickstarter site.
Midwest GameFest Guest, Nov 2-5
I'll be a Guest again this year at Midwest GameFest, returning to the Stoney Creek Hotel and Conference Center in Independence, MO (Kansas City, MO metro) November 2-5. I'll running a couple of different Star Wars Edge of the Empire RPG adventures, Numenera, and even the new edition of Paranoia. I'll also be doing a solo version of the 30 Years of Star Wars RPGs panel from Gen Con 50.
Special Guest Rick Loomis, founder of Flying Buffalo Games, will be running Nuclear War tournaments and other events. There will be D&D Adventurers League, Legend of the 5 Rings Heroes of Rokugan, Pathfinder Society, Shadowrun Missions, and more RPGs, a huge board game library, cosplay, the Artemis Bridge Simulator and more. For the first time, there is even a way to participate in the con online, for free.
Star Wars Wednesday - Gen Con 50
Gen Con 50 was last week, and with it came a couple of announcements. One I should have covered here before the show, but had issues trying to use a mobile app to update the blog. I eventually just had to give up. The convention was fun. It was also sold out at 60,000 unique badges and over 200,000 visitors, however that is calculated. It felt more crowded at times, but not as overwhelming as it might have been. Part of that was expanding into Lucas Oil Stadium, I'm sure.

Last weekend was Kantcon, a small but busy gaming convention in the KC area. I rolled out a new con Star Wars adventure. This time I also left enough time to actually play some games as well, as opposed to running the majority of the time.

I'm very pleased to announce that Pablo Hidalgo of the Star Wars story group will be joining Bill Slavicsek, Sam Stewart, and myself for the 30 Years of Star Wars RPGs panel at Gen Con 50 this August. Pablo has become well known to Star Wars fans thanks to his many years at Lucasfilm working and interacting on the Star Wars website, the story group, books, and for taking listener questions on The Star Wars Show. Before all of that, Pablo was a freelancer for West End Games' The Star Wars RPG and Adventure Journal.
Also, Gen Con has made another 200 tickets available for this event, so if you couldn't get a ticket earlier, try again. No change in time or location.
Star Wars Wednesday - GenCon 50 Event Reg Open
This week, the GenCon 50 event registration opened up. The 30th anniversary Star Wars RPG panel is proving to be very popular, which is great. It's currently sold out but that's not the end of the line.

With Gen Con 50's advance event schedule going live and wish lists available, I'm happy to announce the "30 Years of Star Wars Roleplaying Games" event, with myself, Sam Stewart of Fantasy Flight Games, and Bill Slavicsek formerly of West End Games and Wizards of the Coast.
Fantasy Flight Games is generously sponsoring the event. It is part retrospective, part panel discussion about 30 years worth of roleplaying in a galaxy far, far away across multiple companies and game systems, featuring some of the designers involved.
Join us at GenCon on Saturday 8/19/17 in Westin Capitol III at 5:00pm (Gen Con Game ID SEM17112485).

Star Wars Wednesday - Planet Comicon Wrapup
Planet Comicon was a whirlwind. It grew yet again in size and likely attendance, though the numbers haven't been announced as far as I can tell. Last year was 70,000. I spent most of my time in the game room, which was much bigger and as busy as the rest of the convention. I wasn't the only one running Star Wars RPGs. There was an impressive table set up...
