Thanks to deadlines, work travel, and more, I've been remiss in posting these past few weeks. This lasted right up until last week when I was on my way to GamerNation Con 5, The Order of the Gamers (with a Harry Potter theme). I was the Guest of Honor this year, and it was a great time. Lots of Star Wars RPGs were played, and much more.

This week featured the much anticipated end to Star Wars Rebels. It would finally answer some of the most pressing questions since the series began...to a point. Spoilers ahead.

Star Wars Wednesday - Things to Watch During the Last Wait...
There's only one thing to talk about this week, and it's The Last Jedi....which of course won't release until Thursday evening. I'm still avoiding spoilers reasonably successfully, so here are a couple of other recent Star Wars things to watch while you're waiting...one with the cast of Rebels.
Read MoreStar Wars Wednesday - Various Updates
So, with a week to go before The Last Jedi release, I'm still largely in spoiler avoidance mode. I've done a pretty decent job avoiding the rumor mill. The only Journey to the Last Jedi books I've read it are a couple of out of order issues of the Captain Phasma comic. Out of order because there's been a couple of hiccups in my recent comic book store deliveries.
Read MoreGenesys RPG Now Available!
Genesys, The Roleplaying Game for All Settings is now available! This game takes the narrative dice system used in Star Wars Edge of the Empire/Age of Rebellion/Force and Destiny and builds on it to provide a system adaptable to any genre and setting. Magic, superheroes, high tech, sci-fi, horror and more are all possible using just the core rulebook. A few example settings featuring some of Fantasy Flight Games' universes are included as examples and for use for those who want to dive right in - such as Android and Runebound.
I worked on the Build an Adventure section and most of the Tones section (but not those used in this preview). Build an Adventure is pretty straightforward advice on constructing adventures. Tones are layered on to settings. Android is a hard sci-fi setting, but it supports a variety of tones, such as mystery, drama, or horror. Other settings might match up with certain tones very well - such as space opera with a pulp tone. Tones also feature special rules to play up their importance and style of play. The Cliffhanger rule I worked up for the Pulp section is my favorite.
The core rulebook is now available, along with the Genesys Roleplaying Dice and the Genesys Dice android and ios apps. Note that the Genesys dice names and symbol names remain the same as the Star Wars dice, but the Genesys dice use different symbols (though they look similar to the Star Wars dice symbols).
You can download the PDF character sheet here, and the Gen Con 50 preview adventure here.
Update: Now available in PDF at DriveThruRPG.

That was quick. d20 Radio and the Order 66 podcast announced their Kickstarter for GNcon 5: Order of the Gamers today, and I'm the Guest of Honor. The Kickstarter has already funded.
GNCon runs April 5-8, 2018 at Dallas Games Marathon in Plano, Texas.
GNCon is a small game convention, but draws attendees from d20 Radio's fans around the world. I'll be doing a panel and running some games. Space is limited at the con, so backing the Kickstarter is a must for attendees. More information is on the kickstarter site.
Star Wars Wednesday - Ghosts of Dathomir Resources
Ghosts of Dathomir is out, so some GMs and players are (hopefully) planning their new campaigns, or integrating the adventure into their current stories. This post has a few resources that both may find useful to their new campaign. It has some very minor spoilers - not more than what you might learn reading the back cover of the book.
Read MoreGhosts of Dathomir Released!
The wait is over. The boat has arrived. Star Wars Force and Destiny Ghosts of Dathomir officially released today! Find it at your local game stores, major retailers, and online.
It's been a longer than anticipated wait, but hopefully everyone will find it to be worth it. Explore unusual and dangerous locations against a variety of foes and a top notch villain. There is a lot of room for GM/party background connections and customization, as desired.
Discovery. Danger. Drama. Dathomir.
Midwest GameFest Guest, Nov 2-5
I'll be a Guest again this year at Midwest GameFest, returning to the Stoney Creek Hotel and Conference Center in Independence, MO (Kansas City, MO metro) November 2-5. I'll running a couple of different Star Wars Edge of the Empire RPG adventures, Numenera, and even the new edition of Paranoia. I'll also be doing a solo version of the 30 Years of Star Wars RPGs panel from Gen Con 50.
Special Guest Rick Loomis, founder of Flying Buffalo Games, will be running Nuclear War tournaments and other events. There will be D&D Adventurers League, Legend of the 5 Rings Heroes of Rokugan, Pathfinder Society, Shadowrun Missions, and more RPGs, a huge board game library, cosplay, the Artemis Bridge Simulator and more. For the first time, there is even a way to participate in the con online, for free.
