Edge of the Empire: Dangerous Covenants Released!
Yesterday, Fantasy Flight Games announced that Edge of the Empire: Dangerous Covenants is now in stores. I'll have more to say about it later on, but here are a few notes.
This is the Hired Gun Career sourcebook, but it is useful for mercenary campaigns in general. It has new species, Specializtions, Obligations, Motivations, equipment, vehicles, campaign advice and suggestions.
Go get it!

Star Wars Wednesday - GoldenGeek Award Nominations
Depending how you look at it, today's post is either really late from last week, or a bit early for this week. We'll see if I post anything tomorrow.
Very early today, Boardgamegeek.com / RPGgeek.com / Videogamegeek.com announced the nominations for their 2013 Golden Geek Awards. Star Wars in its various game forms received a large number of nominations, including two of my products, Beyond the Rim for RPG Best Supplement and Star Wars: Edge of the Empire for RPG Game of the Year. Some categories feature more than one Star Wars game. Congratulations to FFG and their freelancers! A lot of great RPGs and board games came out last year, so there's a lot of competition.
Voting is now open (update: login and BBG Supporter membership required).
Here is the complete Star Wars nomination list:

Lady Sabre KS Digital Books Going Out
I've just become aware that the Lady Sabre Kickstarter books are going out in digital form to backers. I hope everyone enjoys them. My contributions are:
The Map - the mysterious document for which Volume 1 is named. This is actually shown within the comic itself in a very large panel. This also makes a similar appearance online.
The world maps in the various forms and books.
The Tanitin continent map.
The Pegasus deck plans, limited in the digital package to one elevation shown as a wall paper for use on various digital devices.
For non-backers, you can catch a glimpse of the maps in the sneak peeks released earlier. There is also the proof-of-concept video I created during the map making process which was released last year.
I saw the proofs for the hardcopies awhile back, and they also looked very good.

Star Wars Wednesday - Music Universes
Back from another KC Game Fair. I had a good time. I intend to post some of the adventure information and possibly the characters I used for The Sabacc Incident, but given that it is more of an outline than fleshed out, ready to run adventure, it will likely take awhile to get it better organized.
This week, the music of and in Star Wars has appeared in a couple of places. I've heard the music of the movies, Clone Wars and Shadows of the Empire over and over for years. As I've said before, for me, the original Star Wars soundtrack was a stand-in for the movie itself in the days before VCRs and video.
